Over the 'Hills' and Through the Clouds

To Connecticut They Come

Well, its official! We had our first set of visitors since moving. Spencer's mom, dad, grandpa, and Susan headed out to say hello the first weekend of November. They all started out in Maine and made their way down to Connecticut.

It wasn't filled with a lot of trips to touristy sites due to Spencer still being in school but we did get the opportunity to show them around New Haven county quite a bit. We visited both the main campus and the north campus of Spencer's school. We went to Lighthouse Park and got some pictures of the beach there. We tried numerous times to drive up East Rock Park but they had the gate locked every time we drove over. Oh well, always next time right?

Probably Spencer's favorite part about his family coming (other then seeing his parents of course) was getting to go out to eat almost every night. However, we were very blessed with an amazing home cooked meal from his parents as our early Thanksgiving. It was the night of the TCU v. Utah game and so we invited some of Spencer's friends over and enjoyed a great meal... (We did NOT enjoy the game.) :( Utah didn't show up at all!

Last but not least we did a mini photo shoot and headed into West Hartford to spend the day and eat Cheesecake (Mine and Spencer's FAVORITE) before we dropped them off at the airport. It was great having everyone out here and Spencer thought that it was really nice for a change to be able to plan things for his dad to do rather than having his dad always plan everything (i.e. the cruises). We look forward to the next opportunity they have to come out!
